What I love about the 1987 Halifax version of Fight The Good Fight is that the band finally decided to play the song's original solo from Allied Forces! Unlike their previous live performances, such as their 1985 "Stages" live album and their 1983 U.S Festival appearance, Triumph didn't hire an additional guitarist or sampled the rhythm guitar to playback the chord changes. Since Mike's bass lines would sound empty while Rik wails away on lead guitar, the band was forced to do away with the iconic guitar solo. Back in the 80s, Rik Emmett did mention (in an interview with Guitar Player or Guitar World magazine) that in their early days, Triumph would record layers of guitar parts on their studio tracks and worry about playing them live later. He was spot on and that later led to technical issues, like playing "Hold On", which in its original form had cascading layers of guitar harmony parts. There was no way Rik could have reproduced the harmony parts that he had recorded into the studio track in a live setting. On the other hand, Rush would ensure that they would be able to reproduce their studio tracks for their live performances as closely to the original song as possible without adding another musician, even if that meant a heavy reliance on MIDI triggered sound samples. It was a blessing that Rick Santers was hired to play keyboards and the rhythm guitar for their Halifax tour, since many of Triumph's hits from The Sport of Kings had more keyboard parts than before. This to me, is the best live rendition of Fight The Good Fight I've ever listened to.

Before I realized this was a music video I thought this was like a gathering for motorcycle enthusiasts who liked British bikes. I was gonna say, that’s a pretty good turn out for triumph in the USA in one state. 🤷‍♀️ Oh🤦‍♂️ Triumph the band. 🚶🚪🦕 Always wondered if this group was named after the motorcycle or just victory

What an amazing blast from the past! Saw this concert and a handful of months later took a trip to Grenada.

I was stuck in central America when Triumph first hit the air waves. Their first 2 albums got me through Reagans secret war in El Salvador and Costa Rica. Never surrender has a very special meaning for me and some of my buddies. Thanks for ever guys for your awsomness.

I saw Triumph one time. The were the headliner for Rick Derringer, Steve Marriott and Mothers Finest at an afternoon concert at the Capital Centre in 1978. Ticket prices were about 6 bucks to see all of the bands. I don't remember seeing Rick Derringer. Steve Marriott was drunk and constantly throwing out the F bomb to the audience.. Mothers Finest was really good but Triumph blew them all away.

Frank Marino +* Mahogany Rush and Triumph should be in the R+*R Hall Of Fame.

I'm afraid to say this, but I think they were compared to RUSH by too many critics. Idk. But as a heavy Rush fan I loved Rics guitar work. Outstanding singer.
